Itinerary

After having breakfast at your hotel, our driver will meet you to start your four-day desert tour from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert. We will begin by crossing the High Atlas Mountains through Tizi n’Tichka (2260m) and stopping to take panoramic photos. Then, we will head to Kasr Ait Ben Haddou to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Kasbah. After that, we will drive south towards the city of Ouarzazat, the cinematic city and the gateway to the desert, to take some photos of the Taourirt Kasbah and continue to the Skoura palm groves to visit Kasbah Amridel, considered a beautiful architectural masterpiece. We will then continue to the famous Roses Valley, where we can see one of the cooperatives that distill and manufacture rose water before finally arriving at Boumalen Dades.

After enjoying a delightful breakfast at our Riad, we will eagerly resume our journey, heading east. The highlight of our day will be a visit to Todgha Gorges, a breathtaking and awe-inspiring canyon nestled in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. Then, we will drive through semi-desert terrain to the city of Erfoud, which is considered Morocco’s most prominent open natural fossil museum. We’ll stop at one of the fossil workshops to delve deeper into the region’s ancient history, which dates back millions of years, before finally arriving at Erg Chabbi Dunes of Merzouga desert.

After we have breakfast, we’ll commence our journey to discover the Merzouga area. Our first stop will be the Hassilabiad Oasis. Next, we’ll traverse the historic Dakar Rally tracks to visit the nomadic community and gain insight into their way of life. We’ll then proceed to the Khamlia village to experience the unique traditional music known as Gnawa music. After the tour, you’ll have some free time to partake in one of the most renowned activities in the area – exploring the heart of the sand dunes by Quads or ATV (optional). To conclude, we’ll return to the hotel for a brief break before embarking on a camel ride to the camp, where we’ll spend a magnificent night under the peace of the starry sky.

Don’t miss the chance to witness the spectacular sunrise over the sand dunes, followed by a shower and a scrumptious breakfast at the camp. Then, set out towards Marrakech, passing through Rissani city, known for its historical significance and economic importance. Traverse the desert landscape and the awe-inspiring Anti-Atlas Mountains before reaching the expansive Draa Valley. Continue the journey by driving through Ouarzazat and the majestic High Atlas Mountains, finally arriving in Marrakech, marking the end of our adventure.
